The International Conference on Parallel Architectures and Compilation Techniques (PACT) is the premier international forum for the presentation of research results in parallel computing. As a multi-disciplinary conference that brings together researchers from the hardware and software areas, PACT brings together researchers and practitioners in parallel systems to present ground-breaking research related to parallel systems ranging across instruction-level parallelism, thread-level parallelism, multiprocessor parallelism and large scale systems.

This year's program will consist of workshops and tutorials on Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12, as well as the technical conference from Monday, September 13 to Wednesday, September 15. The technical program, workshops and tutorials will cover a broad range of research, development, and application of experimental and commercial parallel systems.

The technical conference program is honored to host 3 distinguished keynote speeches on the most recent developments in parallel systems hardware, software and applications:

Build Watson: An Overview of DeepQA for The Jeopardy! Challenge
Dr. Eric W. Brown, IBM T.J. Watson Research Center
Towards a Science of Parallel Programming
Prof. Keshav Pingali, University of Texas at Austin
Raising the Level of Many-Core Programming with Compiler Technology – Meeting a Grand Challenge
Prof. Wen-mei Hwu, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

This year the conference will be held in Vienna, Austria, one of Europe's most historic cultural centers. At the crossroads of east and west, north and south, Vienna was the residence of the German Kings and Holy Roman Emperors, and the capital of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. The scenic Danube Valley is home to historic castles, monasteries and Roman settlements and border posts dating back over 2000 years.

The PACT 2010 conference will be held at the historic Austrian Academy of Sciences. This historic building is located in the city center and is within walking distance of many of the historic sights, such as Stephansplatz, the central point in Vienna, the historic city synagogue, the Ring boulevard, and the Imperial Palace. The conference banquet will be held at Palais Ferstel, the one-time seat of the Imperial National Bank and the Austrian Stock Exchange. The conference reception will be hosted by the mayor of Vienna in the city's most famous wine estate in the hills overlooking the city.

The conference has secured special rates with several of Vienna's leading hotels. Hotel registration deadlines vary by hotel, between July 11 and August 11. Some of the most attractive rates are only available through July 11, so please plan accordingly.
