Getting and building MathMap from Mercurial =========================================== Mercurial is a distributed version control system (similar to git, not quite as powerful, but easier to use) available as Free Software: http://www.selenic.com/mercurial/wiki/ We use Mercurial to maintain the MathMap sources and have set up a public repository here: http://hg.13thfloor.at/hg/ To get a buildable MathMap tree from the public Mercurial repository, in addition to cloning the "mathmap" repository you will also need to clone three other repositories as subdirectories of the "mathmap" directory. Here's how to set up the whole thing: hg clone http://hg.13thfloor.at/hg/mathmap cd mathmap hg clone http://hg.13thfloor.at/hg/lispreader hg clone http://hg.13thfloor.at/hg/rwimg hg clone http://hg.13thfloor.at/hg/lisp-utils Now you're ready to go. Note that to build MathMap yourself from Mercurial (as opposed to from the official source releases) you'll also need to have CLISP, bison and flex installed. You might also want to change the OPT_CFLAGS variable in the Makefile if you want to use MathMap, rather than hacking on it, because it's set to produce lots of debugging output and doesn't turn on C compiler optimizations. -- Mark Probst
