Abstract This thesis describes the implementation of a compiler which translates the language C&Co into C. C&Co is the second representative of a coordination languages that works with the so called coordination kernel. The language is based on C and uses shared variables which can be communicated to other processes anywhere in the network. These communication objects are written atomically within transactions. This work describes the concepts of coordination and gives an overview of other languages and tools that aim at the coordination of distributed systems. After that, the language extensions of C&Co are presented in detail from the point which were used to implement the compiler. The description of the implementation concludes this diploma thesis.
