| Abstract | This thesis describes the necessary steps to enhance the existing snacc ASN.1 Compiler with the Packed Encoding Rules. ASN.1 is an abstract data structure notation, which is often used for protocol definitions. The snacc compiler is capable to process valid ASN.1 definitions into C++ classes according to the more simple Basic Encoding Rules. The Packed Encoding Ruls (PER) offer a more sophisticated and efficient (according encoding time and Size) way to encode ASN.1 data sturctures as compared to the Basic encoding Rules. Many internet protocols are defined in ASN.1 and the PER gain greater importance as an efficient and worldwide standardized encoding method. My implementation introduces the PER to the Snacc Compiler and adds news Syntax elements (according to the 1994 standard) to the snacc compiler. |
