Travel Information |
If you don't want to go by public transport from Vienna airport to Baden or from Vienna airport to Vienna or vice versa, there is a reasonably priced limo service offered by C&K Airport Service. They charge a flat rate of 38 EUR from anywhere in Baden to the airport and of 22 EUR from anywhere in Vienna to the airport. The same applies to the other direction. The limo can be ordered in advance by email, fax or phone. If you order a limo for being picked up at the airport, a chauffeur with a sign showing your name will be waiting for you in the arrival hall. When you enter the arrival hall coming from the customs, the chauffeurs are usually waiting to your left-hand side, sometimes many of them. So, please look around.

If you require a connection for another date or time, please consult the Connections - Query Page of ÖBB, the Austrian Railway Company. Ask for connections from "Flughafen Wien" to "Baden".
Ticket Information: On the platform you will find vending machines of ÖBB and VOR/Wiener Linien. VOR means Verkehrsverbund Ost-Region (Eastern Region Transportation Association). You can purchase your ticket from each of them. There is no difference in the ticket price, but in the procedure. If you are at a vending machine of ÖBB, select "National ticket with selection of destination" and "Baden" as your destination. Then follow the directions on the display to buy your ticket. If you are at a vending machine of VOR/Wiener Linien, select "VOR ticket with selected destination" and "Baden" as your destination. As above, follow the instructions on the display to purchase your ticket. Alternatively, you might select "VOR stripe tickets". There are stripe tickets with 4 and 8 stripes costing 6 EUR and 12 EUR, respectively. Hence, each stripe is worth 1.50 EUR. In order to go to Baden you therefore have to cancel 4 stripes before entering the train. If you buy a ticket with 8 stripes you can use the remaining 4 stripes to travel back from Baden to the airport. Note: whatever ticket you buy, it must be canceled before entering the train. Except for the stripe tickets there is an option when buying the ticket to cancel it automatically. If in doubt if your ticket was automatically canceled, cancel it. Riding without a valid ticket costs a penalty of 60 EUR (or so). The vending machines accept cash (both coins and bank notes) as well as major credit cards and bank cards carrying the Maestro logo. Last but not least: CAT has its own vending machines. They are located on the platform where CAT departs.
Travelling from Baden Station to Hotel Krainerhütte
In principle, you can go by public transport, too. There is a bus
service connecting the station in Baden and the Hotel
Krainerhütte. However, on Sundays this service operates very
infrequently. It might thus be advisable to take a taxi for the final
5 km to the Hotel
Krainerhütte. Nonetheless, you can find the
Sunday-timetable below. If you arrive on another day, please click here and
scroll down to the bottom of the page. There you will find links to
timetables which are valid for week-days. Note: it's a 100m walk from
Baden Station to Baden Busbahnhof, where the busses to Krainerhütte depart, and that officially
the stops Baden Station and Baden Busbahnhof are called Baden b. Wien Bahnhof and Baden b. Wien Bahnhof (Busbahnhof).)
Consult the Connections - Query Page of ÖBB, if you reqire a connection for another date. Ask for connections from "Baden" to "Flughafen Wien".
