Ticket Information: You will find vending machines of ÖBB and VOR/Wiener Linien. VOR means Verkehrsverbund Ost-Region (VOR). You can purchase your ticket from each of them. There is no difference in the ticket price, but in the procedure. If you are at a vending machine of ÖBB, select "National ticket with selection of destination" and "Wien" as your destination. Then follow the directions to buy your ticket. If you are at a vending machine of VOR/Wiener Linien, select "VOR ticket with selection of destination" and "Wien" as your destination. As above, follow the instructions to purchase your ticket. Alternatively, you might select "VOR stripe ticket". There are stripe tickets with 4 and 8 stripes costing 6 EUR and 12 EUR, respectively. Hence, each stripe is worth 1.50 EUR. In order to go to from Baden to Vienna or vice versa you have to cancel 3 stripes before entering the train. Note: whatever ticket you buy, it must be canceled before entering the train. Except for the stripe tickets there is an option when buying the ticket to cancel it automatically. If in doubt if your ticket was automatically canceled, cancel it. Riding without a valid ticket costs a penalty of around 60 EUR.
In addition to Badener Bahn, the Wiener Lokalbahnen AG also operates a bus service connecting Baden and Vienna and a bus network within Baden. Timetables of these services can be down-loaded as pdf-files from the homepage of Wiener Lokalbahnen AG.

In front of the Hotel Krainerhütte is a bus stop. It is served by busses of Postbus AG. Busses towards Baden Krankenhaus go to town and pass the stops Baden Josefsplatz and Baden Station, where you have access to the Badener Bahn and the trains of ÖBB towards Vienna, respectively (see above). The bus stop Baden Josefsplatz provides also easy access to the pedestrian zone of Baden. It's the ideal stop for starting to explore the many attractions and highlights of Baden. Note: from Baden Busbahnhof to Baden Station it's a 100m walk. Baden Josefsplatz and Baden Busbahnhof are stops next to each other.
