My ''real world'' work is C programming on a UNIX based Minisuper. is here. hi . <[Leonard] NMORGENSTERN> Hi <[Dave] DHWEINSTEIN> hi <[Gary] GARY-S> can we get some non-proprietary code in the library ? <[Gary] GARY-S> dave <[Dave] DHWEINSTEIN> The Neural Net stuff. Sure. Once it works. If it works. :-) <[Gary] GARY-S> super - <[Gary] GARY-S> dan any news you wanna share - we were... <[Gary] GARY-S> talking about neural nets and J-H APL 32-bitter <[Gary] GARY-S> ga dan thanks. no. . <[Leonard] NMORGENSTERN> ! <[Gary] GARY-S> ga len <[Leonard] NMORGENSTERN> The other day Dan asked about matrix multiplication... <[Leonard] NMORGENSTERN> in Forth. I couldn't find anything. I found a very concise article in personal engineering in C and will convert it to forth as soon as I get a chance. not much to it if you have a guide of debugged logic to follow to save pain. ga . <[Gary] GARY-S> has jax contacted you, dan ? <[Gary] GARY-S> ga dan also Gauss is a forth derived matrix package but too sophisticated for what I need. and yes I'll be giving jax paper for him at rochester on the fifteenth. ga . <[Dave] DHWEINSTEIN> !! <[Gary] GARY-S> super - I thought you wouldnt mind <[Gary] GARY-S> ga dave is here. <[Dave] DHWEINSTEIN> WIll there be any transcripts from the conference or (wishful thinking) perhaps an RTC from the conference? A SIG for Forth is starting in ACM. This will give Forth professionals a resource for support in selling and using Forth professionally. Activity is needed to make it successful. Look here for info... ********** ---------- Category 5, Topic 3 Message 1 Tue Mar 22, 1988 G.SHAW1 at 06:21 PST - I'm in the process of starting a SIG for Forth within ACM (SIGForth) . ACM membership will not be required to join. A sister effort will start in IEEE later this year. I need help on several fronts: - 1) Officers for the SIG. Chairman, Vice-chairman and Sec/Treas. I'm willing to chair or vice-chair, but I need more bodies to run it. Candidates must be or become ACM members to be officers. You must also be a computer professional to be a voting member (programmer, Dp manager, - etc). The work load is not great, but you must be sure you have the time and will do what you've agreed to do. - 2) Advertising/announcing the existence of the SIG. We'd love to co-op or ride in a vendor's mailing. ***Vendors*** contact me asap. Announcements at FIG chapter is needed. Etc. - 3) We need help collecting and analyzing information collected/to be collected from our projects (see SIGFORTH file). Call me so I can connect people with similar interests. - 4) We need material for our newsletter. - 5) We need *****members****!!! Send me your name and address so that we can notify you when the SIG is underway. - 6) I'm trying to get the creating paper work wrapped up by the end of March. As much input ASAP so I can finish the 1st year budget would be appreciated. If nothing else, let me know if you would become a member so I can project a member count. - 7) We're planning on holding a conference in Texas (probably Austin) next February. Would you attend? Would another location in that region be better. Please let us know. - 8) I need petitions from voting ACM members stating "I support the formation of a SIG for Forth (SIGForth) within ACM to promote the use of Forth professionally" with their ACM# and signature. As many as possible ASAP. - Please call me at (415) 276-5953 or contact me on GEnie if that is more convenient. My mailing address is PO Box 3471, Hayward, CA 94540-3471. This SIG is for us, by us. I appreciate your support. - George Shaw ---------- Message 2 Thu Mar 24, 1988 DANMILLER at 18:38 CST - How about "The Generation of High Speed, High Performance Applications" as a conference topic?
