Wednesday, July 7: Dinner at Donauturm

Meeting: 18:30, in front of the workshop building (Gußhausstraße 27-29)

The first workshop dinner will take place at Donauturm, at 252 meters the largest tower in Austria. The tower offers an observation deck and two revolving restaurants. During dinner, you will get a chance to have a spectacular view of Vienna and enjoy the sundown (around 20:56).

The dinner will consist of a pre-ordered four-course meal. The price of the dinner as well as an aperitif, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages are included in the workshop fee.

We will take the U1 line from the Taubstummengasse station (around the corner from the conference venue) to the Alte Donau station. From that station, we will walk along the Arbeiterstrandbadstraße street, then turn left into the park to head towards the tower. The walk will be about 15 minutes overall.

Thursday, July 8: Dinner at a Heuriger

Meeting: 18:20, in front of the workshop building (Gußhausstraße 27-29)

The second dinner will take place at a traditional Viennese Heuriger, a type of tavern that serves wine that it grows itself:

Heuriger Schübel-Auer, Kahlenberger Straße 22, 1190 Wien

You will be able to choose your food (including vegetarian choices) from a buffet. The price of the dinner as well as beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages are included in the workshop fee.

From the meeting point, we will walk to the State Opera House to take tram line D from the Kärntner Ring, Oper station to Nußdorf, Beethovengang. During the 30-minute ride, the tram will pass various interesting sights in the city center. The Heuriger is just across the street from the station where we will exit the tram.
