Nothing seems to happen to it, and the things in the alcove don't seem to be doing anything either. Junior slowly shifts into the form of a parrot and squaks out to you softly. "I'll be baaack soon. Awk!" He flits over to the first alcove on the west side of the room. As he flies close to the alcove, you see the figure stir. It begins to move out of the shadow that hides it. The creature is covered in bandages and seems to be the size of a small human. As you look upon the thing, a wave of revulsion hits you. This thing is the most appalling creature that you have set eyes on. The very prescence of this abomination frightens you more than you can remember. Junior drops down to the ground. Similarly, Te-rasti, Tafuee and Brevan cower in terror before the power that faces you. They lie, foetal, on the ground shivering. Only Elhmo manages to remain on his feet, and with a look of terror on his face, he faces this thing from beyond alone... Usually a combat will sound of battle cries and shouts, but all you hear is the padding of the things footsteps on the ground. The words ring out true, and a bolt of pure energy streaks out and lodges itself firmly into the chest of the thing, apparently causing some discomfort to the figure hidden within the strips of cloth (5 points damage). Elhmo finds his spear and lunges forward. The blow catches the thing low in the torso and sinks deep, but the spear comes out easily. Your opponent continues its harrasment of Brevan, but is again too slow for the seasoned warrior. Brevan counters and swings at the outstretched arm, but is unsuccesful in gaining an advantage over the silent foe. Junior comes in for a crash dive, and manages to hit the creature square in the back. Unfortunately, his transformation is a lot slower than he expected, and he hits the thing while still a bird. Dazed, Junior flies away and begins a gradual change. Fortunately he is not burned and is still able to act. Brevan slashes out again at the creature, finding purchase within the folds of the swathed figure. The sword bites deep and the creature appears to be surprised to find that the sword hurts! (5 points) Taufee finally finishes her preparations and commands the creature to begone before the glory of Norebo. You can feel the power of the god in the air around you, but even that does not seem to be enough to stop this monstrosity. Fortunately for you, it is still burning. The strips of cloth appear to be far too dry to show any sign of slowing in their burning. You can begin to see segments of the body beneath the coverings.
